Picky Picky Picky Eater

Written by Gabi on . Posted in Parenting and Family Relations

If your child is a picky eater, your job is to teach him to widen his food choices. Special catering and made-to-order requests at meal times encourage your child to stay close-minded and limited in his food choices. Encourage food inquisitiveness while giving it as little attention as possible.

The Ten Basic Do’s and Don’t's To Guide You Through It:

1- Do not prepare special order foods just for him.

2- Do serve at least one thing on the table that is in his repertoire.

3- Do not watch his plate like a hawk.

4- Do not comment on his or his siblings food consumption.

5- Do not serve the food for you child.

6- Do place all of the choices on the table and let him serve himself.

7- Do not fight, beg, threaten, praise, or entice with dessert.

8- Do serve as a healthy role model for your child at the table.

9- Do serve a healthy variety of fresh vegetables for your family.

10 Do stay patient and believe in your parental wisdom. He’ll grow past it if you don’t keep feeding into it.
