  • Chronic Pain and Body Malfunction- Overwhelm After The Confidence Wanes- Part Five

I cannot straighten my body. I am locked, like a pretzel down, hunched, worse than what the cane-walking-elderly-lady-looks-like-in-an-old-movie hunched. I cannot stand. I have just watched an hour and a half movie. This happens whenever I sit for too long. I get trapped in my own tension. My body is chronically tight, wound up so taunt that it cannot even begin to imagine how to breathe it out. I was so empowered, so determined that I can do this, because I can. I can do anything. I got over the unspeakable abyss of insane desire, I will not give up in holding at bay this untamable beast, and I even lost 30 pounds. I can do anything. Anything. Anything, even at the cost of pissing off friends. At all costs, I can. Always.

And so, I was that excited, that woo-hoo-ing my journey, and like it came on so euphorically positive, it crashes that realistically negative. Can I do this?

What I Do Not Know How To Do:

    stand

    walk

    sit

pick up things off the floor

    sleep

What I Know I Should Be Doing:

    changing positions throughout the day

    being active

doing my psoas exercises, dropping my rib cage to my back and envisioning my muscles relaxing

doing my raised hip exercises, same as above

doing my ‘crab’ exercise, stretching that psoas

imagining my body full of light and healing and relaxation

    What I Did Today:

ignored the whole damn thing and pretended like it would go away if I willed it away

wrote to my heart’s desire and enjoyed hours of meaningful blog posts on both blogs

yelled at my kids when my back got so stuck it felt like a chapped rubber band about to snap

felt overwhelmed and too challenged by trying to figure out everything from the beginning

    What I Am Grateful For:

that I know now definitely what the source so all of my body complications are

that I can see evidence of this chronically tight muscle mass of meness all stuck in a painful mesh of solidity

that I can imagine a body flexing, flowing, and moving as I am meant to

that I have Lauren Ohayon guiding me through this

that I have zero (yes, zero) obligations that are taking me away from my goal and that my will and self discipline alone will determine the length, duration, and success of my rehabiliation

that I do not have anything life-threatening (yet) and that I have every resource (mostly time and relaxation) necessary to cure this

    What I Am Reaffirming Now:

that I can do this and I will, I will, I will

that I will not get emotionally wound up and stressed like in AAAAA PART THREE where I fell to peices

that I will improve every day, except for the days that I don’t, which is also OK, forgivable, and part of my process

that I will get off the computer right now and go do the exercises with the gusto and belief in my ability to heal myself

that I am so happy to know that I CAN DO IT! Yes, I can.

How? One foot in front of the other! (My new greatest song I’m dying for and exactly the words I need to hear:

    One

    Foot

    In

    Front

    Of

    The

    Other!

Speak divas (that’s for men too, by the way!) Tell me I can do this and that I’m sexy and young and healthy as I always thought I was. Tell me that being in shell-shock, going 180 degrees at it heads on, and ignoring it will not fix me. Tell me that I can apply all of my awesomeness to my own rehab, that I can relearn how to walk, sit, stand, and bend over, and that I will. Nothing is beyond me, or you. Nothing.

  • Chronic Pain and Body Dysfunction- Falling Apart, Relearning & What Happens When you Mess With the Psoas- Part 4

This is not fun. And I was naive to think it would be fun. I thought it would be some more of my beloved Eye of the Tiger, hear me roar because I am that powerful kind of stuff. It’s not. It’s a slow, maddening being that feels like you are not doing anything. So, I have been doing a lot.

I’ve spent 3-6 hours a day relaxing my psoas and hearing an ocean of things drown me, crash me in waves that tore me to pieces. Who would think that meditating would leave me broken? I knew this from Vippasana, and thought, somehow that it would be different here. So, a couple of videos for you. They say it better than I ever could.

Falling Apart: The Storm of Emotions and Worthlessness That Pours Out When You Touch What was So Deeply Buried

    AND

Relearning: The Challenge of Relearning how to Sit, Stand, Lean Over, and Walk

Falling Apart: The Storm of Emotions and Worthlessness That Pours Out When You Touch What was So Deeply Buried

I warn you now. This is tough to watch. It’s the killer headache that came with everything dysfunctional about me gushing out at 200 miles per hour. Get ready.

Relearning: The Challenge of Relearning how to Sit, Stand, Lean Over, and Walk

And a lighter glimpse into rehab. 44 seconds of it. It’s cute and it’s me trying, with the patience of my dear family around me, to figure out how it is I am meant to reinvent all that I am.

It’s part of a healing series: When Your Body Doesn’t Do What You Want It To. I’m sharing the entire journey to document it for myself (because I WILL be victorious in this battle) and to inspire others to learn, grow, face it, overcome this physical pain, that emotional deep-rooted issue, this addiction, and that insanely normal every-day family life situation.

  • Chronic Pain and Body Malfunction- What The Hell Do I Do With Myself- Part 3

Slowly it’s seeping in how bad things are in my body, how off my entire body is. Maybe a reflection of my soul-state, maybe an expression of emotional unresolved issues I’m still carrying around, and/or maybe just evidence of not using my body-machine correctly.

It’s not pretty but so it is. And it’s totally bashing in my ego and all the “I Am Healthy” messages I thought I was. And I was, I was, and I am but this is something deeper, a different section of being blind to my own healthy development. And here is another video of my trying to figure out What The Hell Do I Do With Myself.

We take it for granted that we know what to do with our physical bodies, that we know what to do. I actually never even thought of it before this. I get up, I do what I do, I exercise, I make healthy choices or I don’t, and I go to bed. Now, I don’t know what to do with myself. I don’t know how to be IN MYSELF and that is maddening.

I think not knowing is marvelous, for in that space of not-knowing, we find out new information, new options, new truths, new data to fill the void that was once filled with Knowing. And yet, knowing that does not make the empty hollowness of it all any easier. But it does even so. Your thoughts. I’m here.

  • My Addiction- Accepting and Releasing: Part 9

“I shall go the way of the open sea, to the land I knew before you came, and the cool ocean breezes shall blow me from the memory of your name.” Laurence Hope

I’m spending a lot of time facing the Pacific Ocean, and sometimes; I feel that way. That I wish it just never happened, I wish I had not fallen into that whirlwind, I wish my soul did not connect so deeply/need so badly/love so fully the heart/space/addiction/drug of that which was. Do you ever wish you could erase that addiction, that drug, that alcohol, that entire phase in your life where you lost touch with reality to something that gave you that adrenaline rush that you thought was real? Sometimes, I still wish I could erase all that was, that it would have never existed, for surely the pain I have gone through filling the void where my addiction once so significantly stood; has been soul-wrenching. But then a stronger knowing comes…

“And I, I’m glad I didn’t know. The way it all would end, the way it all would go. Our lives are better left to chance. I could of missed the pain, but I’d a had to miss The Dance. “- Garth Brooks

I am meant to learn great things from every single thing the Universe brings me. I am destined for greatness, and my greatness occurs also now, in these quiet, painful moments. As you follow my process through my addiction, you see how overbearing and all-encompassing it has become. I set out to share with you in 6 steps how to overcome an addiction, and was fully intending that half of these posts be inspirational, educational tools of great empowerment and inner-strength, and yet something else, sorta like life, emerged. It became a real journal of hell, of lost and found, and lost again.

And, I know that I am in my Emotional Mind. I know that I must go through my Logical Brain in order to reach my Spiritual System. I know that I can expiate this learning, and yet, here I am, so long later, feeling this tightening/suffocating in my chest.

In this proud land we grew up strong
    We were wanted all along
I was taught to fight, taught to win
I never thought I could fail

No fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
Ive changed my face, Ive changed my name
But no one wants you when you lose

    Dont give up
    cos you have friends
    Dont give up
    Youre not beaten yet
    Dont give up
I know you can make it good

Though I saw it all around
Never thought I could be affected
Thought that wed be the last to go
It is so strange the way things turn

Drove the night toward my home
The place that I was born, on the lakeside
As daylight broke, I saw the earth
The trees had burned down to the ground

    Dont give up
    You still have us
    Dont give up
We dont need much of anything
    Dont give up
    cause somewhere theres a place
    Where we belong

    Rest your head
    You worry too much
    Its going to be alright
    When times get rough
You can fall back on us
    Dont give up
    Please dont give up

got to walk out of here
    I cant take anymore
Going to stand on that bridge
    Keep my eyes down below
    Whatever may come
    And whatever may go
    That rivers flowing
    That rivers flowing

    Moved on to another town
    Tried hard to settle down
For every job, so many men
    So many men no-one needs

This is part of an 8, now 9 part series, which continues ever more into “Conscious Suffering” and on. It’s my journey, I can cry if I want to. You would cry too if it happened to you…..

Part 1- My Addiction: Consumed by Desire Part 2- My Addiction: Terrifying Truths

Part 3- My Addiction: Withdrawal Part 4- My Addiction: Getting To Grief

Part 5- My Addiction: Seeing the Light Part 6- My Addiction: Basking In My Own Light

Part 7- My Addiction: Ricochets of Pain Part 8- My Addiction: Cleaning The Core

    Thoughts

It’s the series that never ends because I never do. Truth be told, I continue to grow and change and develop and am now so many months different then here, and yet the same. I found this in draft on the blog and knew I had to share it. And, when I am ready, I need to share with you even the more recent, more light-filled developments.

    Speak, I’m here.

PHoto credits are the best: woman flowing, man in shower, bridge. Aren’t these artists amazing?

  • Sixty Eight Days of Silence- What Happens When Life Flows So Fast You Begin To Drown

Oh my loves. How I’ve missed writing/sharing/being with you. Or have I just missed myself and how I reflect the light of who I am off your eyes when I write here? Hmmm…

How glorious would it have been to spend sixty eight days in utter silence? I did it for ten days in my first Vippasana Meditation outside of Battambang, Cambodia and there, was filled with such peace and three times, insights that made the entire puzzle of my life fit together. For those moments, those three times, looking up at at at at at stars, nothing but darkness and stars, crying, I felt all who I was, the energy of me, finally, deeply, truly taste freedom of body. I knew for a few minutes there that I am all frequency, that everything changes, and that I’m so deeply blessed to get to be a part of the life school.

    Ironically

And as soon as I opened my mouth on day 12, all hell broke loose. Within less than an hour, I lost my flip flops, water bottle, and room key, I had a splitting headache, and lost the deep clarity that came with 150 people all in a shared consciousness of silent healing.

So, imagine what would sixty eight days be like?

The irony is that I was not silent in life these passed sixty eight days. I was silent here on the blog. Had a whirlwind of adventure, too much danger, too much, no, so much getting lost, and very little internet. Just yesterday, I swore I would walk out the door, onto my motorbike, and into the ashram thirty minutes from here, the one with the long, beautiful, serene drive through towns and fields. I don’t know what the teacher teaches or how much it costs or how my family will be without me, but yesterday, yes, just 24 hours ago, I was trapped in a self-carved corner in which escape seemed my only way out.

    Clarity

Turns out clarity does a fine job as well in helping you breathe when you feel you can’t. I walked around like a caged tiger for a few hours and fumed inside myself. Everything I tried to do became hostile and stuck. What a lovely clear reflection of where I was. How kind of the Universe to show me things so spotlessly. I couldn’t get my B12 shot for I had no money. I returned home and ransacked the house for cash to no avail. I took the one credit card I found and tried the ATM (out of service) and the pharmacy (he was out of town) and realized that every cow, car, and motorbike on the way was in my way and totally unreasonable. Yes, I required a step away from all that I was rolling in to gain some clarity.

I wrote a short letter to my family expressing to them that I love them and that I love me and therefore, because of the latter, I am giving them the honor of taking care of themselves. As responsible for themselves, they now wake themselves up in the morning, make and clean up after their own meals, and get to bed either in time for a story and cuddles or not. They choose. I don’t push, I don’t decide. They do. I like that.

    In The Now

Been reading The Power of Now and loving what it is doing to me. I am finding myself slowly, slowly more in the now. More in the what I am enjoying while doing this this second and less in the what will I gain or how will this action accomplish something in the future. I am more now, more present, more in the space that currently occupies the region right before my nose and in my soul. I like that.

    Missing Me

Since I’ve written to you, we’ve left the Philippines, moved to Nepal, hike the infamous Annapurna Circuit (and almost died), left Nepal, moved to Goa, India, got the kids fully acclimated in a new amazing school (took a week and a half of me sitting in school with them), found a house (bless Kobi for doing that day after day in the sweltering heat), settled in (still in the process), and completely lost track of who my deepest self was. I was so busy doing that I totally lost my contact to meditation, healing, yoga, exercise, and the silent spaces that inspire me to clear more darkness and fill it with light.

It got crazy when it dawned upon me that weeks and weeks and weeks keep coming and going and there’s no internet or no time or no energy to do the yoga and meditation exercises that I’m dying to do online. Dying to heal myself and months have slipped through my fingers with justifiable excuses (which still does’t make it any the less maddening) of why I just haven’t gotten around to doing what I deeply desire.

There’s so much on my body-mind-soul to do list. You can see it here on this post I wrote about brown water and how badly I don’t want that anymore. The wish list is this:

    Today

Yesterday, in my fog of hostility, I went to try on some dresses. That should make me happy. Yes?

No. I felt like a fat heifer in a Barbie wardrobe and it brought me back to fitting room moments I have deeply dreaded.

So, today, I woke up and did it all differently. All of it. Clarity, calmness, nowness, no more victimness. All differently and full of light, with a very clear focus on me first. Magically, everyone is attracted to me now, everyone is kinder, and when they are not, it fazes me in the least. Why? Cuz I know who I am and I know that it all passes and I see that right now is fuckin amazing. And so, all the blessings of my family and all the beauty and joy have begun to surface when I stopped trying to serve everyone and completely owned me and my importance.

    Yogaglo.com

Yes, I finally did it! Yes, I’ve invested my time in that which I deserve and want and wish for myself. Totally worth every cent and every second. It’s an endless library of yoga and meditation videos by a whole army of amazing teachers. You pick the level, the kind of Yoga, the length of class, and if there are any body parts or issues you want to focus on. Today, I did (finally!) my first video! I did a 60 minute Hatha Yoga level one Heal the Back class.

    What I Learned

That it’s all about a healthy relationship with my body, this body right now

That every movement should lead to more ease and fluidity and joy

That it’s all, all, all about me being in a positive, joyous place with the space I currently occupy and that that is why I want to take this time, to make time for me to see me and to love me and to be

That I need good internet to make this a part of my daily life

That if I don’t carve the time out for it, it won’t happen

That I deeply love myself and appreciate my loving husband and my kids (even when all of the aforementioned, especially me, are unreasonable)

Your thoughts. Please. Or Don’t. Either way, I love you. Gabi

You know how I adore photo credits. I love thanking talented people who share their work:light post, question mark, big bang madness photo, red arrow pointing up, lonely winter tree

  • When Your Body Doesn’t Do What You Want It To- Gratefulness, Overwhelm, and Determination – Part Two

So, it’s much more serious than I thought. Basically, and I quote, ” What took you forty years to ruin, will take you a year of hard work to fix.” I can do that. I am determined and ready to do the work I need to make my body optimal. It’s crazy how I thought I was so healthy, so into raw food. I lost 30 pounds, toned my body, and have been eating such non-fried, not-too-much-carbs, very little meat and sugar sorts of food. So why did I just fumble around in Kobi’s backpack for the snickers bar that wasn’t there? And why did I feel like a crackhead in withdrawal with terrible shakes when this quick fix isn’t?

So, this journey is long and powerful and amazing. And I’m swishing and swashing like in a washing machine, being pulled and twisted between gratefulness at finally understanding the way to solve my life-long health issues, overwhelm when I realize how much there is before me and how hard this is to retrain every bit of who I am, and determination to face this mountain too, and overcome it.

A Body Gone Astray- Understanding How Badly The Abuse Has Set In [Video]

Yes, I prefer to write to you for an hour, to play with my thoughts, to marinate on adjectives and run-on sentences and see how it all comes out in some literary smogenboard. [Sorry, WordPress doesn’t know how to correct my misspelling]. So, I want to write for an hour, get lost in it and find me, and you, along the way. But, I’m doing a shift called GET OFF MY ASS AND MOVE MORE and so, you’ll just have to watch the videos and trust me that seeing me face-to-face (almost) is just as fun.

Part one of my Body Falling Apart Series- so much fun, you can’t even contain this awesomeness! I know!

Part Two: Greatfulness, Overwhelm, and Determination

  • How To Live With Your Addiction- Woo Away, I’m Not Falling For It

It just hit me so hard I can’t breath. Can’t. Breathe. I’m drowning. Rolling down, down, down into it, groping for air, for some root to hold onto to keep me in the sunshine, but the sun is gone and the roots have all rotted. I was just now sitting there smiling at my life, looking at my loving husband with admiration and gratitude, cherishing the gentle touch of my child’s sweet words, and then BAM! It’s back. I thought we were over this? You know exactly what I’m talking about. Your version may be different, may be more colorful, messier, and still impossible to explain to anyone who hasn’t been through it, but you know. You feel his finger grazing your thigh, you smell that which reminds you how that drug/alcohol/person used to make you feel, you hear that song and it brings you back to a you who was so much more alive and beautiful, not the you in the mirror today. And all around you, all the blessings and logic and love in your life, vanish, vacuumed up into an abyss of never-again’s and what-if’s that you know simply no longer have a place in your life.

And yet it won’t go away. It won’t.

Would you almost lose it all again for this addiction? Do you remember how insane you got last time?

No, I would not. Yes, I do. I do. I do.

And yet, my heart’s beating so painful hard. She wants to explode with desire. Raging desire. Last night, I dreamed of that which will never be, again. That song brought me back. That smile on that person’s face. The angle of sun through that raindrop reminded me. And I feel like soul swinging in the night rain again, and I feel like Fuck, Fuck, Fuck (husband watered-down the title), and I feel like running away from every damn thing that I deeply love to escape into a world that exists as perfect in my mind. And logic fails you when you touch insanity. They don’t know how to co-exist. Damn euphoric allusions slap the shit out of the reality. No, no space for real life while you are a prisoner to your addiction.

Why You May Not Want To Enter This Realm With Me

Now, I warn you that the link above called your addiction is about mine. It is the start to a series that never ends. I thought it did. I thought it stopped at part 8, but since have added:

Conscious Suffering- How I Drag Myself Back Down

Ending That Suffering- Four Decisions To Pull You Back Up

How Do I Stay Happy? Soul Swinging in the Night Rain

And I have parts 9 and 10 on draft cuz I realized that no one wants to hear my 45-part pity party, but then again, maybe you do. And maybe that’s why you come back here again and again.

    Why You Come Back

    Because you’re neurotic too.

Because you are also shocked (not ashamed but shocked) at how out of control you could be.

Because you know that wounds never fully close up, they mend, but can open with gushing fierceness with no notice.

Because you also know the taste of insanity and the exhilaration of stupidity and the obsession with feeling that alive.

Because you also see patterns repeating in your life, painful deja vu’s that you keep recreating.

Because there is something deep inside of you that knows that playing with this fire WILL BURN YOU and thus, you’ll keep cutting that salad, putting the kids to bed, and yelling at anyone around you to get out this pent-up tension that has no where to go. And so, you’ll eat that chocolate cake with vengeance and you’ll pick that fight just because, and you’ll cut someone off in traffic or cut someone up with your glance, but then, then, then you’ll breathe and know that you are stronger than this temptation and more powerful than this moment and more full of light than that darkness disguised as salvation.

So, damn it, I’m going to cut the watermelon, cuz I can do that. It won’t hurt me. And, I’ll smile/cry/scream out/curse at the beating of my heart in reaction to last night’s dream and all that came up with it. I won’t ignore it, hate it, or deny it. It’s there as real as daylight. But so am I, and I am powerful and able to overcome this one, one step at a time. I’ve passed the worst of it. You can watch/read the series yourself and you’ll relate.

I cry a lot. I’ve been through hell. I died. I went insane. I wished I could go or do or be anything else than face it, but I did. I did, just like my friend Pete, and just like all of those beautiful souls, a few who commented here but most who did not comment here but either remained silent or who wrote to me personal emails saying “Me too, Gabi, me too. I’m hugging you, as I, as you, as we, go through this, towards enlightenment, one maddening step at a time.”

    I love you.

    Roll with me.

    Gabi

I love giving photo credits, cuz their work is amazing! woman with red in hair lying in the dark, heart on a noose, woman in bed.

  • When Your Body Doesn’t Do What You Want It To- Mommy Tummy and Other Plumbing Frustrations- Part One

So, you may know that my plumbing is all messed up. Well, actually, how would you, I’ve never talked about it. So, here’s the deal. Even before kids, but definitively worse since the birth of my last child, my entire digestive/excretion/stomach systems have been mis-wired, plugged up, and not flowing well. Yes, having children born in 2002, 2003, and 2004 may not have been the wisest choice for my sweet body. The only reason we didn’t have intended Baby #4 in 2005 was because of that one physician who thought the mess until my belly button from the umbilical hernia surgery may get intertwined and complicated with another immediate birth. The dear nurse in the hospital had no idea why we burst into laughter when she asked the date of my last period. Between births and breastfeeding, we had to count back years. In month 2 of pregnancy, I looked like month 9 cuz my stomach went, “Oh, I remember this!” and popped out so far that my sister-in-laws would laugh and say I’d need a tent by month 6. Yes, very funny, I know. But, it really was so pitiful all you could do was laugh.

Years after kids, I’d look seven months pregnant by the end of the day, and even worse when I had to go to the bathroom. I was constantly bloated and heavy every single night. So uncomfortable. The heaviness was tough, feeling that unattractive was tough, going to the bathroom was tough. I no longer could go to the bathroom in the regular way people go to the bathroom. I’ll spare you the details. Things overlapped, got tangled, and all messed up. I went to dieticians, gynecologists, and many experts that random people referred me to. I got prodded and poked in a million ways and got nothing. I remember years ago, actually, before I even had the kids, I sat down with this really big wig dietician and told him proudly that I don’t eat white bread or pasta, don’t drink coffee or cola, don’t, don’t, don’t and he writes this all down on his little pad (he was probably just doodling and trying to look engaged). He puts down his drawings, pulls his glasses to the very rim of his nose, and asks, “And you enjoy this form of living?” He dubbed me ‘Irregular Bowel Syndrome’ and charged me $200 for the visit. Thanks Doc.

The following is my journey through this entanglement towards clarity and solutions. Finally, solutions.

    The Raw Food Solution

Only when I was on all an all raw-food diet did things get dramatically better. Because my stool was so soft, it all just came out and flowed and I sang and danced as the sunlight fluttered through the breezy fields of flow. Raw food has been great, and for that year it was the solution. But then life got in the way, dinners at friends’ houses, Friday night meals at Kobi’s family, life, and travel, and there went raw food. Again, blocked up, plugged up, and so uncomfortable. I knew, for me, raw foods was the most logical and best way to heal my body , but living 100% raw also wasn’t working. Not because my body and soul don’t thrive on it, but because I don’t know enough about how to prepare amazing foods to keep my palette entertained in the face of all the other temptations around me. Also, when we move a lot, I can’t find or afford the fresh fruits, veggies, and nuts my body needs.

When I’m stable in one place, a month here, two weeks there, now for two months in the Philippines, I’m able to live mostly raw. That, learning to stop snacking at nights, and a ton of exercise is how I lost my 30 pounds. In India and again back home in Israel, I look forward to deeply investigating my creative culinary options and maintain at least 85% of my diet raw. I don’t believe I should wait for some medical emergency to allow my body to function optimally, neither do I feel that tragedy is the only justification for stopping to fill my body with chemicals and crap. Yes, Kobi’s two mini-heart attacks are what finally brought us to raw food, but since the Nazi-girl told me about it in college, I knew this was going to be my path. (It’s in this video!)

    Meeting the Angels Solution

And then, I met a series of angels who guided me to get my body weight down and get my muscles toned. I lost 30 pounds, continue on my ego-shedding spiritual journey, and share the joys of meshing both of those worlds often on this site. I looked better than I had my entire life, and felt sexy. Let me tell you what a joy that was! To feel sexy! And I spoke of raped through the massage table and all the emotional weight that came off by working through that. Lots of work and lots of guides along the way who taught me that I can change/improve/completely transform anything I set my mind on. I didn’t know the Eye of the Tiger was within me, but, sure enough, it just needed that dear Angel to show it to me.

Lower Back Pain Begging for a Solution

I’ve had it off and on forever and just assumed it was part of the story of life. You know the joys of life with kids, back posture, and sleeping in odd positions with someone’s elbow up your nose sort of thing. Money also was a trigger for me. And every time I have unresolved, SOS money tragedies (almost exclusively in my mind, yet none the less tragic) my lower back flairs up. So, when we hit Mistakes You Can’t Take Back and thought the end of our financial stability was hitting the fan, my lower back went crazy.

I couldn’t stand, sit, walk, or sneeze. Oh, sneezing was awful.

    The Psoas Solution

And then angel Lauren Ohayon found this blog and became a dear soul mate. She does body work, and knows the body, and helps clients get back in optimal alignment and other fancy terms like that. She told me things like,

“the psoas is the deepest muscle in the body. attaches from the spine to the legs! the only muscle that does that. it has the lumbar plexus in it so the nervous system is deeply woven into this muscle. the psoas is the flight or fight muscle. it gets ramped up when we are in a heightened state, trauma, anger, etc. it is THE emotions muscle. because it attaches from spine to legs, the tightness that happens in it creates problems in the pelvis, hips, legs and back. based on your state right now, and the posture i have seen you prefer, my guess is that you have chronically short psoas and now it is in a full on temper tantrum.”

So, I started to do the exercises she referred me too and felt an improvement. But, not gone and not fixed and Lauren who had seen me walk and knew how off my alignment was was there to guide me as I wanted to get my abs back to gorgeous.

    She sent me this:

The only magic pill for you is good alignment. I can teach you that in one session. I also need to know if you have a diastisis recti. If you do- there is only one way to work the abs or you’ll increase the problem.

    The Diastisis Recti Solution

I’ve spent almost all of today watching videos, reading comments and looking into ab exercises that may help me. Turns out I’ve been doing the exact thing that will exasperate and worsen my stomach problems. I’m not sure if I have it or not cuz perhaps the wire mesh interferes with me checking properly.

I have found these Kegel exercises, which I never did, even back during the natural childbirth classes, or after. It makes a lot of sense to do them now, and I love the elevator analogy Kegel variation. Very helpful.

[HUGE NOTE REVISED AFTER MY TALK WITH LAUREN: CONTRARY TO COMMONLY FOUND ONLINE KNOWLEDGE, THE KEGELS I MENTIONED ABOVE ARE THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT I NEED. “IT’S CONTRACTED A CONTRACTED MUSCLE, IT’S TENSION ON TENSION” LAUREN SAYS. So, example number one of how I simply could not trust my own intellect and online search to guide me to what I needed most. I needed one professional whom I trust. Oh boy, the voyage ahead! I’m so grateful!]

This comment by Christina Maynard on InspiredRD’s diastisis Recti article made me think I wrote it. This soul sister truly captured my heart:

Hi there!! Thanks so much for having a blog about this!! I recently, on Friday of last week, was tired of hearing about how my diet is the cause of not having abs! Well, I did some research, which was very difficult to find, but I found the reason to my current state of abs…diastasis recti. Yes…I have a large gap between my muscles! I knew it was something to do with having kids, but was uncertain because no DR ever told me this was going to happen!
While working out this past year, I looked for support in a workout community and even followed personal trainers. All they post are how much abs are made in the kitchen, I was even told this a few times from a few people. The thing I did not get is….I’ve lost so much weight and I’ve been eating great and exercising almost everyday. My journey is successful, EXCEPT my abs! To which I seeked out help from other moms and personal trainers. I never spoke about this to my Ob/gyn, but I did bring up that I was trying to get my stomach back, but she never said a thing. And if I were to completely listen to everyone about how abs are made in the kitchen, I could have very easily become anorexic! I honestly, was going NUTS trying to figure out why my abs are looking like mush when the rest of my body looks like muscle! FRUSTRATING.

Today, I’m looking at my exercise so much differently! I’m going back to enjoying my workouts! I’m going back to loving the person I am inside and out. I’m going to see my results instead of seeing my faults. I am no longer going to kill myself to workout! No one should make me feel inadequate. If someone is not there to support me…I will NOT listen to them. It is completely important that we have a support system.

Thanks for you post!! And please LOVE YOURSELF and BE KIND to the mom that you are and this goes to all moms going through this right now!!

Question: Its been 5.5 years since my last child. I’ve had 2 back to back and both C-sections. Both boys were over 9lbs. Can I still work on getting my abs in shape with the exercises you have listed above even though its been 5.5 years since my last??

So many of those comments made me feel that, if I did have it or not, that I was not alone. That with Lauren’s help and the great articles she referred me to, I will find the solutions I need for my body. This picture copied from Real Simple Magazine may be my bible for the next several months. I’m not sure, but will know for certain after my Skype session with Lauren.

[NOTE: Again like the note above, I do not know if these exercises are any good. Turns out that the premise behind all the common knowledge I am, and you are, finding online is that the body is meant to degenerate and malfunction and be in pain from ‘natural’ wear and tear. LAUREN SAYS THAT THIS IS NOT SO. So, again, here’s what I found independently, but the exercises and the work she has given me is weeks, maybe months of work before I can even look at this. Again, online one-size-fits-all does not work for me, for you, for our individual histories and needs. Learning so much, and so honored to share this journey with you and see what we can learn together Thank you Lauren. ]

    The Real Solution

The real solution is that there really isn’t one. The real solution is that we are a work of art in progress, and all of our intentions and dreams and goals will dance and whirl before us, and some of them will come true and we will reach that point, and some of them we simply won’t. And all of them will keep changing as we change, and all of them, will require me to keep them a priority in order for the results to remain. All I could do it this way, by figuring it out piece my piece and gleaning the information I need online. I know taht will work well. But, I’ve been blessed with a little fairy-dusted angel gift called Lauren Ohayon. Lauren, obviously a God-sent, has a lot to teach me about how to hold and position my body, how to heal it through exercises and meditation, and how to eat in a way that will support my spiritual and physical development. We’ll have our Skype session in the coming days and I’ll let you know how it goes here amigas!

A Video Reflecting All That Is

11 minutes of how I would tell this to you if you and I were sitting face-to-face talking. And so….

  • Six Ways To Regain Sanity When You and Your Family Are Falling Apart

    Who Is Gabi Klaf?

It started out as an innocent enough walk through town. Objective: To obtain food. And what happened was I followed my family through those sweltering alley ways and booths holding everyone’s stuff until I felt like a trash can/closet/servant, and walking next to kids who rambled on incessantly without even a second for me to hold a thought of my own, and constant complaints and “but I wanted to walk next to Mommy” and me feeling that my opinion and desire to find a place with a salad were totally insignificant. It was a very personal inferno of hell, a traumatic stuckness that begged for some wild insane outburst to relieve me from myself. But no. I just walked on, one foot in front of the other, ‘anicca’ing the entire way.

‘Anicca’ing is my superimposed Buddhist verb-i-zation of nouns and adjectives to make things make sense for me. ‘Anicca,’ now coincidentally tattooed on my husband’s right shoulder, is the Pali word for ‘impermanence.’ It means that all passes, changes, flows, comes and goes, and for me, it helps me learn (slowly) that there’s no reason to get all hung up on this or that really painful or really tempting issue for it will all change anyhow. So, when things get tough, I fall down, I get depressed and desperate, I lose myself in temptation, I annica it, and, somehow, it passes, and life carries on. The frequency, duration, and intensity of my fall-outs have significantly lessened. Significantly, and how this happens, I’d like to share with you: Six Ways To Regain Sanity When You and Your Family Are Falling Apart

    1- Just Shut Up

My family is having argument number 23 of the day. God, this dejavu is exhausting. Maddeningly so. Abuses, words, hysterical emotions, glares, fighting over semantics, finger pointing, and who’s foot is too close to who’s pinky. The entire hostel hearing the crying and yelling floating out from the space under our door doesn’t help. I don’t really want to walk out into that lobby. Ugh.

At moments like this, should I open my mouth, I know that very little loving, kindness and wisdom will flow from my lips. At moments like this, I hiss, not speak, I burn, not soothe, so I choose not to speak. As much as I can, as much as you can, don’t talk. Don’t announce to the world that you are not talking, cuz then you know that your family will push you over the cliffs of insanity (less funny than in Princess Bride), and all your efforts will be lost. Tell yourself, “Speak only from love, or just shut up lovely self,” and listen to your wisdom. Don’t speak unless you have something amazingly wise to contribute.

I realize, now as I enthusiastically inch towards 40, that silence is the most mature expression of my wisdom.

The Zen says we have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Listen more and speakth less. When we spend more time silent, we become wiser observers of that which is. (I did when the homeless guy and I got lost for 58 days and when I did the life-changing 10 Day Silent Vipassana Retreat) What roles do people in my family play? What are they saying under the ugliness? What unspoken (or screamed) unmet needs do my family members have, and how, in my infinite reflective wisdom can I find a creative solution to meet those needs?

    I choose to stay silent.

    2- Bow To My Growth

And even with the elbow shoving in the taxi tonight, and beforehand, the driver waiting, taxi on, we’re standing in the middle of the street while the kids fight over who sits next to the window, I must bow. I must, for otherwise I’ll yank, slap, or snap at one of them or inflict pain upon myself. “Get. In. To. The. Taxi. ” I say, trying to sound even-toned and authoritative. “But she! It’s my turn! Not fair! I just!” “Get. IN. NOW.” And I sit there between the shoving and whining, listening to my heart pound in my ears, and stay very silent. “Anicca, Gabi, Anicca. This will pass. ”

And yet, I know, know, know that I am meant to learn through my family (even when you want to kill your kids but you’re too grateful). We all are. Our souls picked our families so that we could learn the lessons and teach the lessons we were destined to. And my dear friend Val went on a three-month sorjourn and returned to her corporate life recently. She cried for a week, and just decided that she’s selling it all and moving to Mexico where she’ll settle somewhere for six months- do soul work and cleanse and heal her heart, and then travel. And I’m jealous for I’d love 6 months for my soul. God, I’d love that. But, as I wrote to her, “I am meant to learn through my family. I am meant to be here right now, as a glue, as a source of light, to guide them to some enlightened wisdom that I am meant to share with them right now. I am meant to be here, though I sometimes feels so very stuck, I am meant to be right here and learn through this family stuckness.”

So, the grass is not greener anywhere, and even if it seems so, it’s not. This is the pasture I am meant to roam in. This is the pasture I am meant to learn in. I invited this, I even created it through the actions, thoughts, and decisions of my past. I created this, and in this, through this, in spite of this, because of this, and in honor of this life that I now live with my family, I shall grow and learn.

To this growth, I choose to bow.

    3- Find Inspiration

Another fight. We’re not getting passed this, are we? Ever? And I look across the room at that one child who pacifies my soul. Her sweet smile, her unearthly ability in storms of hell to connect to herself and be that silent calm eye of the storm. How does she do that? How does she sit there? I use her as inspiration. I work very hard not to outwardly express it. Kobi says I take sides in her favor. I will put every ounce of effort not to create favoritism that will only expound the already hysterical sibling rivalry. But, still, for me, silently, I can hold onto the gift I got in this life, that one member of my family, like an old familiar teddy, can return me to myself like no one else can.

I’m listening to Jason Mraz a lot these days- 93 Million Miles, Everything is Sound, I Won’t Give Up On Us, I’m Yours. I put his playlist on YouTube and try to melt into the frequency of his inspirational, soothingness. I’ve stopped entering forums with people who answer self-righteously and don’t bother answering those who comment or otherwise tell me from arrogance their way. That is not the voice that inspires me, so I send them love and deep understanding that they too are doing it their way, the best they know how. But I won’t feed it, and am learning (again, slowly) to be in the places, with the people, in the music that inspires me to find my greatest light.

4- Feel the Universality of Pain and Hope

When living in the village with the locals in Koh Rong Island, our home was a lovely little run-down shack off of pier three. There was no water, no electricity, and our toilet was a plank with a hole in it. My landlord, a beautiful young mother, lived there alone with her three young children, and niece or two. Her husband was working inland, and she needed the extra rent money to make ends meet. So, she moved all of her stuff out of the house, and moved in with her mother.

Fast-forward 3 weeks later: She’s sitting on a table on the beach, holding baby number three, and crying. Her cousin translates for me that she needs for us to move out, that she can’t live with her mother anymore, that her mother is so mean to the kids, so impatient, and yelling at her all the time. She said she can’t live there anymore, and needs her space back. Who could not understand the universality of that? I asked her to move back in that night, to the back room. We hugged, she cried, I cried. We’re just women trying to raise our kids and dealing with those intimate relationships which sometimes teach us too much at one time.

A dear friend wrote to me that she is depressed and struggling and slowly, pulling out of it, with lots of anti-depressants and much soul-searching. Another women who found this blog shared with me her deepest pains in life and how she feels she’s losing every ounce of sanity, and barely holding on. A lot of amazing women wrote to me privately, in different forums, and in the comments to the post Learning of Rape Through The Massage Table. How wonderful to connect with others souls on their journey towards the light, too. Who could not understand the universality of that?

We’re all just doing the best we can, using the resources we have, facing the mistakes we’ve made, and hoping to learn, slowly, every single day. Know that you are never, never alone. Leave a comment here, read another article online anywhere that inspires you, reach out to someone else, for that’s what I’m doing here, you know, reaching out. Or don’t actively leave your footprint, but know that thousands of us are doing the exact same thing, going through the exact same thing that you are, right now.

We can curl up in shame or we can know that pain is normal and universal. We can feel defected or know that we are perfect in our imperfection and that through this, we also will get through it, like we’ve done before, and like thousands of others like us, are doing every day, one painstaking damn step at a time.

5- You Can Be Fully Inspired When Happy

I studied Self-Conscious Sabotage Freedom Technique through The First Key with Dr. Dafna Slonim. She’s remarkable and I’d deeply recommend her work. When doing the healing exercises, you say a series different statements about happiness. Dafna teaches us that because of the power of self-conscious sabotage saying “I want to be happy is not enough,” and therefore I must go on to “I can be happy” and “I deserve to be happy” to teach that little inner voice that every reason it may have stacked up against why happiness should elude me, won’t hold water. Dafna teaches us how to go to the deepest level of our psyche and declare, and reteach my soul, that happiness is a natural and acceptable state of being, also for me, also in my imperfection.

Strong Wings asked me one day, “What is your art?”
    Me: “I don’t have one.”
Strong Wings: “What do you create?”
    Me: “I write”
Strong Wings: “Yes, of course, you write. I see.”
    Me: “Why?”
Strong Wings: “Because often an artist gets his deepest motivation from pain, and often, fear, sub-consciously, that without the pain, they won’t be inspired, that they won’t be able to produce great work.”

And I thought about that for months, and still do today, when I recognize the age-old soul-myth deep inside me that says ‘only when you suffer, can you rise to the occasion, Gabi. Only when it hurts, can you find strength and truly inspire yourself and others,” and that is not true. Granted, some of my best work has and does come out of pain. It helps me connect to my deeper self and helps me be proud of myself cuz I overcame the obstacles, but I’ve produced fine work, taught deeply inspirational classes around the world through pure joy. I have and I will and don’t the need as a prerequisite for greatness. I wrote in How Not To Fight that sometimes it’s the only I think I’ll get great sex, for, you know, make-up sex has a charm of her own. But no, that’s not true. I can create greatness from light and inspiration without darkness, and so can you.

And so, I choose inspiration from happiness. In my music, in the music of others, in the people and books and thoughts and mantras I place near me. So can you.

    6- Love Is A Verb

Stephen Covey is amazing in many ways. He’s not so much into multitasking as he is into meaningful-tasking. So while we may be wary of him him for being a corporate icon, he brings soul and healthy relationships and light into an otherwise often soulless world. I’ve read his books, particularly Seven Habits of Highly Effective Families, multiple times and have used his tools successfully with clients and groups. “Love is a verb” is a favorite that says that if I don’t feel love towards my daughter, my spouse, or myself, than act like I do, for ‘love is a verb.” How would I treat a spouse I adore? Would I pet him, make him tea, scratch his back, cuddle close to him at night? Well, even if you need to through gritted teeth, put your flaming pride on mute, and do it, as hard as it may be, do it. Create that love not by waiting for it to magically one day appear, not by waiting for him, or her, or yourself to beg your forgiveness, but by acting the way you would if you felt deep love for your child, spouse, father-in-law, or self.

Act that way, and the emotions will come. Invest in that relationship, no matter how unnatural it may feel, and it will come, with time, it will come. And, let’s say it does not. Let’s say the recipient of your love is more stubborn than you (if that’s possible) and maintains that finger-pointing self-righteousness, than what? Then you know you and your soul went beyond the call of duty, and truly expanded the boundaries of love in your heart. You put aside that ego and that pride and expand yourself to a whole new realm of awesomeness, and you can bow, and be very proud.

Pick one relationship that is not working, and ‘love-is-a-verb’ it and watch what magic unfolds.

I choose ‘love is a verb,’ can you?

So, I’m done and feeling enlightened and refreshed. This article was started and stopped because of all the guck and muck that kept splashing into my face all day, and, today, on the battle field of my family life, I survived. I did. I forced my family into two family talks, my husband into two heart-to-hearts, and I stayed silent most of the rest of the day. I looked at them with love (or looked away when I knew I had none in them eyes of mad mother), and even scratched a couple of backs tonight. Slowly, with silence, with bowing to my teachers of truest growth, with continued inspiration, with connecting to the universality of pain and hope, with creating inspiration from happiness, and with living from love as a verb, slowly, I’m going to make my way out of this hard patch of family life into the next promised land of breezy fields and butterfly kisses. I will. I will. I will. And so will you.

    Speak. I am here.

Or stay silent as most of you lovelies do.

I know you are there. I can feel you smiling right about now. And now, even bigger.

  • Learning of Rape Through The Massage Table- Overcoming What We Don’t Know

    Who Is Gabi Klaf?

I was raped. I’m sure of it, but not when. This life? Maybe, more likely not, but, some life, sometime, I was. I am sure of it. There are too many indicators that left me appalled by my own skin, inflicting abuse by picking scabs until I bled and couldn’t wear shorts my entire life, emotional eating episodes, unexplained repulsion and hiding my body under layers of cloth. Reasons, some I can personally recognize- he said this, she looked at me like that, and many more, I know my soul can spin many tales about. But regardless if yes or not, and when, it no longer bares the weight I carried with it all those years. It’s gone, gone, gone. [Deep breath of relief.]

This I only recently remembered, and looking at it, fascinates me like some eerily familiar case study of someone clearly separate from myself. I studied Humanology (formerly Neo-Psychology) for two years. The best way I can explain this eclectic science is a holistic type of meta-physical Buddhist-tinged self-healing regression therapy. It’s truly amazing, and has brought me and countless clients remarkable results.

So, I was sitting in a new classes, new semester, new students. In comes Irit, a bouncy adorably large woman with amazing energy. She’s married to Yossi, who volunteered at our kids’ school. Fast forward two months later…. She asks me how I’m doing with the body thing one day. “What body thing?” I’m clueless, and had totally forgotten how I initially knew her years before she was the volunteer-guy’s wife. A friend suggested Irit when I told her I wanted to spoil Kobi and I for a good massage. Having never gotten one, I was nervous and called to verify some details, all of which I had totally forgotten about until she spilled it out there in the tones usually reserved for light how’s-the-weather chit chat. “You acted like a rape victim. I was sure you had experienced some severe physical abuse.” she chirped. WTF?? I was floored and stared at her numb, having zero recall of this entire issue.

    What I Wanted To Forget

How conveniently our minds and hearts push way down deep that which we don’t want to deal with, that which we cannot yet deal with. So, she delineates how I asked about who she was, about if she would see my body naked, about if someone might see me there, about if she would touch my buttocks, about if I felt uncomfortable if I could ask her to stop. Funny, I hadn’t remembered any of it, and not so funny, I ended up backing out of my massage and gave my appointment to a dear, close friend for her birthday present. Just like I missed several therapy sessions and eventually fired my therapist when he insisted that we talk about ‘The Issue’ I wasn’t ready to touch yet, I conveniently was unable to make that appointment and face what I wasn’t ready to.

    Fast Forward to 2012

We had been in South East Asia then for about 7 months. A traveling friend Cindy took me out to a girls’ night. It was then that I was dance crazy, loving the motion and the feeling of being that sexy and light and alive on that stage. I begged her to go dancing at Temple Bar. No go. We had mohitos and she treated me to a massage in Siem Reap, Cambodia. At the ripe age of 38, yes, I had my very first massage, and totally I loved it!

Was it because I’ve lost 28 pounds and got tones and sculpted enough to turn a head or two, which had never happened previously in my life? Was it because I had been touched and freed sexually from things I never knew were so deeply untouchable in me? Was it because all those years of meditation and Buddhist psychology and healing just wore away what was no longer serving me?

What a joy it was to lie on that mattress in that sleazy moldy-dark, second story massage parlor in that soft candle-light and feel the young woman rub every inch of my body. What a joy to notice that my blanket had fallen off when she contorted my spine and that my breasts were revealed and I was almost totally comfortable with that. What a joy to see Cindy’s body and mine in that barely lit room and feel the romantic beauty of the hot oils and the darkness and the intimacy of someone’s touch on my muscles and know, know that everything is safe and alright. They girls were doing the same routine massage they’d done a thousand times, Cindy was having her normal massage treat, and I, I was following the electricity of warm fuzzies shooting up and down my body, barely containing myself from screaming aloud, jumping for joy, laughing so hard with pure ecstasy as what it felt like to be free and comfortable in your own body. The old me would have hyperventilated and had a full-fledged panic attack. But here I was, enjoying it. All. All. All.

    Fast Forward Again

That was the one and only massage I had received in my entire life, until this month in which I got three! I know!

Today, I’m lying in the couples’ spa room in Casa Del Rio, Melaka, Malaysia for the third spa treatment in three weeks. I know! (Freak out- in the really good way!) And each time, I have loved it completely, freely, fully. No qualms. None. No questions. No fears. Each of the three were deep tissue soul therapy, further relieving layers of pain I am still unaware of. How I relished turning around, full-front bare and talking freely to my masseuse . How I wanted to cry out from pure joy as I sat up from the massage table and walked across that room with both masseuses seeing me in just that fluffy blue disposable underwear they gave me. And I’m talking to them, laughing, smiling, at ease, no, at full pride, I strut over to the restroom and beam at the mirror.

“You’ve done it Girl! You have. You are totally comfortable with your own beautiful body! You did it! You decided to become hot and you have!”

    Not Just A Vanity Trip

And it’s not just a vanity trip, which it also is and I can happily accept that at 38 1/2, for once in my life, I do want to turn heads and feel that attractive, I do. I’ve also bought bras for the first time in my life that hold me up with cleavage. I always, always, always hid my body, even when I was skinny, and especially when I was fat. Some two years back, on our ranch home in Costa Rica, I went out one day without a bra, and was shaking from nervousness the entire time. Later that week, I went to exercise without one, and feel almost liberated. For the last year and a half, I’ve spent entire days walking among people, even taking photographs, bra-less, in my pj tank-top, feeling comfortable enough with who I am, with that which makes up my own body, to show my skin.

I’ve worn shorts. Unheard of practically my entire life. Not just shorts. Short shorts that a lovely pair of Israeli twenty-something year olds left on my door after they checked out of Garden Village Guesthouse. And they were hot little things, and I filled their shorts so nicely. And I’ve worn short, short dresses and have twirled in them on that Temple Bar dance floor, and noticed that others noticed too. And, ready for this one? A bikini- totally freaked me out, just the thought of it! (I’ve written tons about my entire process, starting this this video and all the way up to the Healthy Weight Loss tab)

Will I adore my stomach, now well toned and muscles, when my 40′s or 50′s or next year, it will flap again? Will I admire my body in the mirror when again my proportions shift and my breasts won’t seem large enough to make that great hour-glass shape for my thighs and butt will bulge too much? Is this love for my body conditional to people not believing that I am almost 40 and that I’ve birthed three children? Will I love me, truly and deeply, when I could no longer get his attention based on my looks again?

I Do Hope So, But I Don’t Know

I have loved this liberation of soul and body in feeling, for once in my life, not like that girl with that great personality, but that really attractive woman. This transformation has done my soul so very, very much good. Knowing that I lost those 28 pounds and toned my body, and could pick it back up when I started to gain again, and knowing that I can do it again and keep it, is amazing. I saw a video today of a 42 year physical trainer and marveled how her toned body looks like one of a very fit 25 year old. And then I remembered his mother, so gorgeous and sexual in her 50′s, and then I know, deep down, that this too will pass, and with time, I will need to enter deeper inside and do the more intense spiritual work that requires my ego to disappear. And I know that my attachment to my body, this body that I’ve turned around from flab and shame into tone and pride will need to be renunciation too. I know I need to one day release that attachment to fully integrate into the spiritual being that I am simply borrowing this outfit/body for another round of learning on Earth.

I know this is now, and I do hope that when later comes around that I can look, and beam, and do that little dance in the mirror that now says “I adore you you hot little thing!” and will be able to say, “I adore you you beautiful/spiritual/love-filled little thing!” and feel it with the same fervor. I appreciate not living my life as an excuse, why I feel uncomfortable with this person or that one, why I’m so fat and out of shape, why I didn’t have the courage to leave my really amazing life in Northern Israel and become nomadic. I don’t want to look at me and feel the excuse, that I’m not my fullest, best, highest potential me, and when my attachment to this body fades, I do hope I still love me with that same fervor. I tell my clients to all the time, but it’s infinitely harder do walk your own talk, isn’t it?

So, I’ve changed clothing in places where others could accidentally see me, I’ve had a few people see a few too much shoulder, I’ve done some travel-minded carefree fun, and think to myself, that all that is missing next in my growth would be some nude beach or nudist colony. I’ll put it on my bucket list and then really see how my in-laws and my parents freak out how I’m abusing my children and totally screwing up my life in a mid-life crisis that never ends. Should be fun. I’m excited.

So, thank you again for allowing me to share my deepest thoughts, as they whirl and twirl and reveal themselves to me in my writing. I usually know where these things will begin, today I shall write about massages, but rarely have any indication where they will end up. I’d love a footprint from you, even just a code word like ‘red flag’ or ‘fairy dust’ that tells me you read it. I don’t use statistics on this site, like I do on the nomadic family one. This is my soul stage, my online healing/inspirational forum so I don’t want to quantify it with any measurable numbers. I am learning, slowly, that so many of you are here, with me, reading silently, and I love that, and respect that. Should you want to let me know that you’ve been by, it will make me smile. Should you prefer to stay quiet, I am smiling now, with love, to you for being that which you are, as you are, and loving yourself enough to be totally alright with not doing what someone asks you, with saying ‘no, no thank you’ and having no qualms about it. I love you that way.

So,say hi or don’t, I’ve done my part in sharing, in putting out there my ever-growth hopefully as an inspiration for you who read and those who don’t, to know that you too are normal. The energy of love is out as soon as I wrote the first word, and eve more so, as soon as I click ‘publish’. It’s about to be a cosmic part of the Universe, so sing and be happy, as we are meant to. It’s all good, very, very good.

    Good night.
    Gabi
